Our
Life Story
Dennis and Delora are husband and wife, parents, grandparents, pastors,
motivational speakers, preachers and teachers. Both born and raised
in Massachusetts, their lives together have seen great triumph and
profound tragedy. The years that had to be overcome could have been
devastating, but you will hear them say frequently, "No regrets.
Our Father in heaven used every circumstance to form us and shape
us into the image and likeness of His son. We aren't there yet,
but thank Him every day for allowing us to even approach that goal."

Delora's life was one of a typical kid growing up in a small town
just outside of Springfield, Massachusetts. She was born into a
family of Italian immigrants and was raised with the only values
they knew; very old fashioned and very strict, but looking back
she realizes that they probably saved her life. As a teen and child
of the hippy generation, Delora got heavily into drugs of all kinds
and lived for music and her next high. And although she did not
know Jesus as a teen, she is thankful that His hand was on her even
then and kept her from situations which could have taken her life.
Dennis grew up in a small town in Connecticut, then moved to Massachusetts
by way of Las Vegas. Having 3 fathers, with the 2nd one committing
suicide, Dennis found Jesus and looked to Him as his only anchor
in an otherwise volatile childhood. As he grew, his faith was "the
rock" that kept him from escaping further into drugs and alcohol.
Dennis and Delora met while in college and within two years, they
were married. Young and in love, they planned to set the world on
fire...and they did. Dennis, within a few years of graduating from
college, bought a restaurant and they were on their way to riches.
Delora spent her young years raising their children and waiting
at home for her husband, who at this juncture, left Jesus at the
doorstep of wealth and notoriety.
Although they attained riches, their lives were quickly falling
apart. Within 3 short years, their lavish lifestyle backfired on
them and they financially were destitute. They felt a pull to California,
so they sold whatever they had left that wasn't already repossessed
and they were Hollywood bound. |

Dennis, because of his expertise, quickly found a management position
with a national restaurant chain. Delora fell into acting, got herself
an agent and began booking roles. Now Agnostics, they moved in different
circles and before long, became strangers. After much heartache
and many battles, they decided to separate and Dennis moved out.
Living alone did not cure the inner pain and emptiness.
They both got involved in other relationships. Their children, although
very young, felt the deep split that was happening in their lives
and of course that worried both of them. So, when Dennis was offered
a transfer to New York, he asked Delora if she and the kids would
move with him to try and work things out. She agreed and they moved
back to the east coast; New York.
Three days after arriving in New York, they realized that their
marriage was doomed and they split again. Delora, wanting to stay
on the east coast for their children's sake, moved back into her
parent's home with the kids while Dennis stayed in New York. Delora
started divorce proceedings and discovered that she had to be a
resident of Massachusetts for one year before it could be final.
She got an apartment near her family and began a new life complete
with new career, new condo and new boyfriend. Dennis in New York
did the same. Their lives together were over...or so they thought.

One year almost to the day of filing for a divorce, they found
themselves at a mutual friend's wedding. They discussed that in
a week they would be signing the divorce papers. Both of them, now
very involved in other relationships, wished each other well and
went to their respective tables.
As the wedding progressed, they found themselves dancing to a slow
song and the love began to rekindle. That night was a night to remember.
A miracle took place and by the next morning, they called off the
divorce and within a few short weeks, Delora and kids moved to New
York with Dennis and began restoring their marriage.
The next few years went by like a whirlwind. Then that fateful
day...Dennis, through a TV evangelist, got saved. Things began to
change around the OBrien household. Delora would wake up to Christian
music; she would find him actually reading a Bible; he was different
and it was very obvious. Soon she nicknamed him, "The Monk."
He no longer would smoke pot or snort cocaine with her. He wasn't
interested in clubbing which both of them loved so dearly up until
that point. Again she was about to file for divorce, but Dennis
was so loving to her; so forgiving, so understanding and accepting;
that it was very difficult for her to be angry with him.

Delora
went ahead anyway and found an attorney and began proceedings for
the 2nd time. Dennis knew he couldn't stop her, but he made one final
request; "Come to church with me...just once." She will
never forget that fateful day. She never made an altar call but God
fell on her so hard that physically she felt her salvation and from
that day on, she never looked back, only looked to the cross. Jesus
had become the love of her life.
Well, in the style that she still possesses today, she was off!
Delora found truth and now everyone was going to know about it!
She couldn't do enough for God; read enough about God; pray enough
to God. She wanted more and more. Dennis, now trying to keep up
with her, grew very quickly as a Christian and they joined a body
of believers on Long Island that became home to them for over 20
years.

But the tough times were not over. Dennis and Delora, while working
at a restaurant that they were in the process of purchasing, were
discovered to be Christians; witnessing their faith to their employees
and patrons. The man that was still part owner heard about this
and he filed papers claiming that they had stolen many items from
the restaurant and were using them in their home. He lied to the
police and paid others to corroborate his story. |

 They
were framed for 2nd degree Grand Larceny and had to go to court
with the possibility of getting 7-10 years in jail. Dennis was arrested

out of a service and Delora was handcuffed in front
of her 3 young children and all of them taken in the back of a police
car, to jail.
After speaking with Dennis and Delora, the police officers knew
that there was some kind of mistake, but had to proceed with due
process of law and they were booked. Knowing that they had never
stolen a thing in their lives, they pursued the man who lied about
them, but was never able to contact him.
One year later, and still in the middle of fighting for their freedom
within the court system, that same man called their home to harass
them. Delora answered the phone and told him how much Jesus loves
him and that she and Dennis have forgiven him. He was silent; then
a dial tone.
The day after Christmas, he dropped all charges. They were now free
to start a new life with their new found love of God, their family
and their church.
Over the next 20 years, Dennis and Delora spent most of their waking
hours either with their family or ministering to the saints of God
as full time ministers. God used them to save souls, repair fractured
marriages, inspire and instruct business men and women, mentor those
called to leadership, heal spirit, soul and body and also be a friend
to the friendless and a parent to those that were without. During
those years, they had great victories but also profound tragedies.
But through it all, the keeping power of the grace of God kept them.
One very specific incident happened on August 10, 2002. The OBriens
had a fire in their very newly remodeled home. Dennis, unable to
allow all of his hard work literally go up in smoke, did everything
he could to put out that fire. And he did, but not without smoke
circulating all through the house covering the furniture and walls
with black soot. Who ever thought that this incident would be a
driving force pushing them toward the next leg of their God-given
assignment?

The following night in their church there was a special meeting
with Prophet Kim Clement. He pointed to Delora and said that he
had heard about the fire but God wasn't going to save the house.
He also pointed to a new ministry years down the road that would
be in an area where films were made and that she would be involved
in that industry as well. Needless to say, the last part of the
word was wonderful, but God not saving their house was not what they
wanted to hear.
Days turned into weeks which turned into months and the remediation
company still could not get the smoke and chemical smell (that they
used to clean) out of their home. Every time Dennis and Delora would
try to enter their house, they would get ill from the "chemical
soup" which had invaded their home.
They lived in hotels, with family, etc. for nearly a year. Finally,
a chemical engineer had an idea to try something he called, "washing
the air." After initiating that process, he aired out the house
and then called Dennis, Delora and family to enter and see if the
smell was gone.
That day was very exciting for them. They went into the house and
it didn't smell! They rejoiced, hugged each other, cried and thanked
God. Of course, they remembered what the Prophet said about the
home not being saved, but they figured, "Hey, everyone misses."
After discovering what was causing them to be so ill, family and
friends pressured them to see an environmental specialist. What
they discovered is that the chemicals caused their DNA to mutate
which meant that their bodies could not assimilate B12. They had
to begin taking shots daily, with a special B12 formulation that
their bodies could digest.
Before long, things turned from bad to worse. Everything bothered
them. Any foreign smell, even scented candles, would put them back
in bed with nausea, vomiting and horrible exhaustion. They couldn't
go into stores if new clothing was just put on the racks and of
course, no more trips to Home Depot or any place where there was
the slightest smell. |

Newspapers, magazines and anything with ink had to be tripled plastic
wrapped or they would get sick. Eventually, after many allergy tests,
their doctor basically said, "You are allergic to the air where
you are living, the air in your home is contaminated and you really
should consider moving out of your house and out of the area."
Once again they were forced out of their home. Now remembering what
the Prophet said, they realized it was true...the house could not
be saved.
They moved out of their home but leaving their family, friends and
church was impossible...or so they thought.
Several years later while in prayer, God spoke to both of them
separately and told them to move back to Los Angeles.
They had many words given to them over the years that pointed to
that, but they never gave it a second thought, until now.
Even after they both knew they heard God's voice to leave, it
took a couple of years to actually do it. Finally, they were at
a point where they had no home, were perpetually ill and only functioning
at a fraction of their capacity because of where they were living.
After coming to the end of themselves, they looked up and yelled,
"Okay, we're going!" And so with the blessings of their
Bishop and the other Pastors, they packed up and moved to Hollywood!
That was in 2006 and although they sadly miss their family, friends
and church, it is very clear that they are on a new leg of their
journey and embarking upon a new ministry; a ministry that will
be marked with overcoming faith, the manifested power of God and
the ability to resurrect broken and forgotten dreams.
Dennis and Delora OBrien are on a mission to help transform your
life through the understanding, wisdom, knowledge and power of God.
Today, their motto is still "No regrets" and the joy and
supernatural hope that they possess is contagious.
The next leg of their race is to help God's people realize that
their dead dreams can live; that God can rekindle those dampened
fires of your heart's desire and bring you into your ultimate destiny.
Their prayer is to see your individual dreams and desires come to
fruition so you can empower Jesus' dream and build His kingdom and
church on the earth. |
